Our Story
Built by Hand. Built to Last.
Every toy chest that leaves our workshop carries something more than wood and art. It carries intention: the intention to build the backdrop of your child’s memories. The home they will always remember, the stories they will tell and pass down.
We are Jacob and Hannah, the makers behind Stone & Branch. What started as a personal project, building a toy chest for our first little silly goose, turned into what you see today. We wanted something that felt solid and real, something that wouldn't end up in a landfill in five years. We couldn't find it, so we built it. And then we built one for a friend. And then another.
Why We Build What We Build
There's a reason we call our pieces heirloom quality, it's not a marketing phrase, it's a promise. We use sustainably sourced hardwoods chosen for their grain, their strength, and their beauty. Every joint is cut and fitted by hand. Every surface is sanded smooth for little fingers. Every finish is non-toxic and safe for the spaces where your children sleep and play.
We don't rush. We don't cut corners. We build each piece as if it were going into our own home, because that's exactly how this all started.
Our Process
From the moment you place an order, your piece is built specifically for you. We select the wood, mill it to thickness, and hand-cut every component in our workshop.
Personalization is woven into every step. From the colors to the design, we work to make sure the piece fits your family perfectly.
Most pieces take 6-8 weeks from order to delivery. That's not a delay, that's craftsmanship.
Built for Your Family's Story
Our toy chests aren’t just storage. They are the place where that favorite stuffie lives, where dress-up clothes pile up, and where little hands dig for the perfect block. It's a piece of furniture that becomes part of your family's daily life and eventually, part of your family's story.
We're honored to be a small part of that.
Thank you for being here. If you ever have questions about a piece, want to talk through customization options, or just want to know more about how something is made — please reach out. We love hearing from the families we build for.
